Our Story
In 2021, as Colombia reopened, seven riders joined us on a week-long journey from Bogotá to Filandia by way of Alto de Letras. We left the capital with a humble van, and a mechanic on a moto. For most of them, it was the first time in Colombia.
Most asked to come back the following year. Then they brought others. Word spread the way it does in cycling communities, one rider to the next, until in 2023 we gave it a name and an identity. Colombici was born.
Everything since has followed the same brief: to design journeys that spark real cultural connections, inspire meaningful discovery, and support the places and people we visit.
Led by founders who live here, and stay involved in every step. That's the whole idea.
Meet the Founders
MayaCEO, Co-Founder
Born and raised in Bogotá. A master's degree from a business school in France, where she also lived and worked, and holds a French passport. A career in luxury branding followed, client service, account, and production, working across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the US. She brought that experience home to build and run Colombici.
PanCreative Director, Co-Founder
Thai-born, Australian-educated. Two decades across the global creative branding industry, an award-winning creative director. He left that world behind to build Colombici's from the ground up.
Partners in life first. Colombici is what they built together, still run day to day from Bogotá.

Every Colombici journey is curated, not templated. The route is one we've ridden and tested ourselves, before it's ever offered to a guest. The hotels are chosen by us, not pulled from a directory. The itinerary, the pace, the day you rest, is built around the group actually riding it, not a fixed script. A support car, driver, and mechanic travel with every trip. A few times a year, Maya and Pan host a departure themselves. Either way, no trip runs past ten riders. That's the point, not a limitation, small groups get more attention, not a bigger group photo.
Proof numbers: 88 km / 55 mi, Alto del Sifón, the longest paved climb ever raced. 4,149 m / 13,612 ft, the highest paved mountain pass in Colombia. 2,625 m / 8,612 ft, Bogotá, our baseline altitude, not every ride.
Why Colombici?
Founder-Led, to a Global Standard
Colombici is founder-owned and personally run, no handoffs, no third party between you and the people who actually built the trip. Van, driver, and mechanic are all qualified through the Federación Colombiana de Ciclismo. On-call soigneur support comes from people who've worked the professional racing circuit, not a generic hire. Every trip is held to an international safety standard, not the minimum a local permit requires.
Small by Intention
A cap of ten riders, one van, one dining table, on every trip. That's not a marketing number, it's a staff ratio of at least three to one, closer to two to one on our flagship route, soigneur, driver, and mechanic all on hand. Small is a deliberate choice, made on purpose, every time a route is planned.
Hyper-Local Insight
Maya and Pan live in Bogotá and ride the roads most operators skip. Every route is tested by them before it's ever offered to a guest. Engaging with a country's people, its land, and its rhythm tells truer stories than any guidebook can, and none of it was planned by someone who's never stood at the base of the climb.
A Two-Way Exchange
Travel shouldn't only take. We spend where it counts, the tiendas and cafés along each route, the family-run fincas, the mechanics who keep us rolling, real support for small, local businesses, not a chain or a kickback deal. Fair pay for the people we work with, support for ethical local makers and producers, and a real contribution to the communities that receive us, reciprocal travel, not just consumption. The cafés, farms, and mechanics named throughout this site aren't a curated list for show, they're who we actually spend with, every departure. Cycling becomes the vehicle for change.
